This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information in line with NDIS Practice Standards, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

We collect personal information that is necessary to provide our NDIS support services, including:

  • Participant details: name, date of birth, contact information, NDIS number

  • Health and support needs, goals, and care requirements

  • Family or carer details and emergency contacts

  • Records of supports, bookings, and communications

  • Financial or payment information, where relevant

 

We collect information directly from participants or their authorised representatives and, where necessary, from relevant health professionals or service providers, always with consent.

2. How We Use Personal Information

The information we collect is used to:

  • Deliver and coordinate NDIS supports effectively

  • Assist with planning, monitoring, and reviewing participant support plans

  • Communicate with participants, families, carers, and service providers

  • Meet legal, regulatory, and NDIS requirements

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants and staff

  • Improve the quality of our services

3. Sharing Your Information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • NDIS coordinators or providers involved in a participant’s supports

  • Health professionals relevant to a participant’s care

  • Government or regulatory bodies as required by law or NDIS standards

  • Third party service providers who help us deliver services (e.g., IT systems or administration), under strict confidentiality agreements

We do not sell or trade personal information. All disclosure is aligned with participant consent and NDIS privacy obligations.

4. Storage and Security

We take all reasonable steps to keep personal information secure:

  • Electronic information is password protected and encrypted

  • Physical records are stored in locked cabinets

  • Access is restricted to staff who require information to provide services

  • Staff are trained in privacy and confidentiality

5. Access and Correction

Participants have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about them

  • Request corrections to ensure information is accurate, complete, and up to date

 

Requests can be made by contacting us at info@navicasupports.com. We will respond promptly in line with privacy laws and NDIS standards.

6. Retaining Your Information

We retain personal information according to:

  • NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements

  • Legal and regulatory obligations

  • Our internal record keeping policies

When information is no longer required, it is securely destroyed or de identified.

If you believe your privacy has been breached, you can:

  • If unresolved, contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) or the NDIS Quality and        Safeguards Commission.
